‘TIL THE FIRES IGNITE

The arrival of a new year seems the perfect time for a song about appreciating the days we have left. “Time Waits (For No One)” is live and available on Bandcamp; it includes the bonus intro track “The Devil’s Gramophone” with your download.

Side note: “The Devil’s Gramophone” was composed for a play tracing Old Scratch’s twisty history. It totally did not work—probably because I wrote it before reading a finished script—but I recorded it anyway. The result existed in the same attic-dwelling world as “Time Waits”; it maybe even sounds like Tom Waits re-writing the theme song for Tales From The Crypt. The trumpet solo was actually a bunch of samples I chopped up and reassembled to sound like a single, live performance. It took hours to do this, and then I recorded my live guitar solo in less than ten minutes…go figure.
